So why did I make a major purchase for the PS3, which at the time was over $400? Well, I was lured by Blu-Ray. What was even silly, was at the time I didn’t have a TV that could play Blu-Ray at it’s highest resolution, which is 1080p. But I bought it anyway knowing soon I was eventually going to take the plunge and invest in a big screen. About 6 months later, I finally did, and wow, was it everything I expected it to be. Blu-Ray was by far the best way to watch a movie. Far superior then watching it on the big screen.

Even still, I felt maybe I made a mistake adopting to early to Blu-ray and buying a PS3. I wasn’t a gamer, I wanted entertainment. And at the time, the PS3 offered very little in the way of entertainment. Yes, it had the PS Store, but the movies were overpriced and I would rather save that money and just put a movie in my Netflix queue and wait for the title to be delivered by snail mail.

And then about a year ago, Netflix released a disc specifically made for the PS3 to stream Netflix movies. This was great! It was cheap, and I could enjoy my Blu-ray movies delivered to me PLUS enjoy the streaming titles on Netflix without having to go to the mailbox. And as time wore on, the titles and selection on Netflix improved. I could watch all 8 seasons of my all-time favorite show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Catch new titles, like Star Trek and IronMan. 2 of my faves. PLUS watch awesome Bollywood films, which are so entertaining to watch. I absolutely loved it. So much so, I got rid of my cable. At the end of basketball season, I cancelled my I loved Netflix streaming, and since Netflix launched on the PS3, they’re released more and more tiles, making me downgrade my plan from service with Cox for good and just watch movies and TV on my Ps3. And if the PS3 could’nt get any better, it was announced on Engadget that Netflix on the PS3 will be discless, starting October 14 and stream in Dolby Surround and in HIGH QUALITY 1080p! WOW! And in a few months, all PS3 owners will enjoy Hulu Plus, so instead of cable with a DVR, you can catch entire current seasons of popular TV shows such as Glee, Modern Family and more.

When I price out the cost of Netflix and Hulu Plus, I’m at under $25 for entertainment. That’s $10 less for the local channels on Cox, and $20 less for the basic cable package, which offers 100 channels, which I only ever watched 2 of them (ESPN & TNT for basketball). And $50+ in savings if you get the low tier premium channels with DVR and Hi-Def. For the under $25, I get a DVR and a Hi-Def console all in one.

So my $400+ investment has turned into a money saving entertainment device. Since I cut cable off, I’ve saved over $300 since June. And the best part is, I don’t miss cable at all. And with streaming growing more popularity every day, it’s a matter of time for the NBA and other sports to join in and offer paid streaming versions of their broadcasts. I can’t wait for that day!

The site has improved so much since I first purchased a home. The interface has totally improved, not to mention the cool customization tools.  Tools such as “Request a showing with my agent”. And the really cool interactive map to search for homes for sale in an area I wanted to live in. The best part of signing up with Ziprealty.com, has got to be the iPhone4 app. It’s like having a condensed version of the personal settings on the website on my cell phone. I can get the same details about the property, pictures, and of course, driving directions. This is especially HANDY, because my realtor and I zipped through town looking at condo after condo, and my iPhone helped to ensure I got there without getting lost.

There’s a lot of neat features on the app, but wished they could incorporate more, such as MLS #. This would have been handy a few times while I found more available homes in an area we were in. Unfortunately, this is only available if I login using the cell phone browser.

Another cool feature with Ziprealty.com is the “Discuss with a friend” feature. I used this with my friend online. I sent her the invite link to view the listing and she could view it along with me, without her having to create an account. There’s a cool chat box that allowed us to chat about the property. The chat feature was a little slow, but it did the job in the little time we needed.

I just love how technology makes it so easy now to buy a house in Phoenix. I’ve been at it for about a week, and I’m close to finding the perfect place. All thanks to Ziprealty.com and my iPhone 4.

I finally figured out how to customize your lovely application to make it blend nicely with my site. But then, just as I thought of how I could dominate the blogosphere by posting my total randomness using my iPhone 4, I downloaded your app and was troubled by what I found. 800+ reviews all giving you 2 stars! Why? Because your app doesn’t work. Simply put: it sucks!

It’s 2010, WordPress. You designed a powerful tool that people can write their thoughts, create whole websites on, and then you can create quite possibly the worst mobile app known to man. Can you please build a decent mobile phone app? You should at least ask Apple to remove your app completely as it’s useless.

What a shame.

WordPress has been a big thorn in my side for well over a year, and today I finally decided to give it another try. It was super easy to customize. I think I basically overthought the coding and that’s why it alluded me for this long.

I’m excited that now I can share with the world my complete utter randomness.
